What happened: PlayStation Plus will add three Monthly Games on Tuesday, Nov. 3: Dead Island 2, Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered and Monster Train 2. You can add them to your library through Monday, Nov. 30.
What this means for you: Every PlayStation Plus plan includes Monthly Games, so you do not need a pricier tier to get these three. Keep in mind that Dead Island 2 is rated M for Mature 17+, which matters if kids share your console. The October games leave the claim list after Monday, Nov. 2.

The details
The November lineup mixes a gory zombie game, a classic adventure collection and a card-battling strategy game. Each one plays very differently from the others. It also includes one title, Dead Island 2, that parents may want to check first.
| Game | Platforms | How you play | ESRB rating |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dead Island 2 | PS5, PS4 | Solo, or online three-player co-op | M for Mature 17+ |
| Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered | PS5, PS4 | Third-person adventure | T for Teen |
| Monster Train 2 | PS5 | Single-player deckbuilding roguelite | T for Teen (PS5 store listing) |
Dead Island 2
Zombies have taken over Los Angeles, which the game calls "HELL-A." You take on quests, meet survivors and fight hordes with melee weapons. You can explore alone or team up with two other players online in three-player co-op.
The rating deserves a close look. ESRB rates it M for Mature 17+ for Blood and Gore, Intense Violence, Strong Language, Suggestive Themes and Use of Drugs. It is a first-person shooter. You hack at zombies with bats, machetes, swords and axes, and the fights end with large blood-splatter effects and dismemberment or decapitation. Shotguns, machine guns and unconventional weapons such as car batteries are also in play. Cutscenes add more intense violence, and the dialogue includes strong language and suggestive jokes. The game also carries the "Users Interact" label, which ESRB uses to flag possible exposure to user-to-user communication and shared user content.
Tomb Raider IV-VI Remastered
This collection covers three Tomb Raider games: The Last Revelation, Chronicles and The Angel of Darkness. You can play with the original polygonal models or switch to the remastered graphics. That could suit anyone who played the first versions and wants a look back.
ESRB rates it T for Teen for Blood, Mild Language, Suggestive Themes, Use of Tobacco and Violence. Lara Croft uses pistols, shotguns, grenade launchers and crossbows against soldiers, mummies and scorpions. The collection has no interactive elements, such as online chat.
Monster Train 2
Monster Train 2 is a single-player deckbuilding roguelite. You command a clan of former angels and demons as they try to push powerful beings called Titans out of Heaven. The journey runs aboard trains through Hell, Heaven and the Abyss. There are five new clans, and each one plays its own way. Each train has three vertical levels to defend.
ESRB's page for Monster Train 2 lists a T for Teen rating with Blood and Gore, Fantasy Violence and Use of Alcohol, but it names only the Nintendo Switch versions. The PS5 page on PlayStation Store shows the same T rating and the same content descriptors. The PlayStation version is PS5 only.

Last chance for the October games
The October Monthly Games are F1 25, Hunt: Showdown 1896 and Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2. You have until Monday, Nov. 2, to add them. Once they are in your library, they stay yours for as long as you remain an active PlayStation Plus member.

All three plans include Monthly Games, online multiplayer, exclusive discounts, exclusive content, cloud storage and Share Play. Extra and Premium add the Game Catalog and Ubisoft+ Classics. Premium also adds the Classics Catalog, game trials and cloud streaming.

What to do now
To claim the games on Tuesday, Nov. 3 or later:
- On a PS5: from the Games home screen, scroll right and select PlayStation Plus. Go to the Benefits tab, select Monthly Games, highlight the game and select Download.
- On a PS4: from the function screen, scroll right and select PlayStation Plus. Scroll down and select Monthly Games, highlight the game and select Add to Library, then Download.
- From another device: pick a game on a web browser or in the PlayStation App and start the download to your console remotely.
If kids play on your console:
- Create a family and add your child as a family member if you have not already.
- On a PS5, go to Settings, then Family and Parental Controls, then Family Management. Pick your child and set the age level for games and apps. A PS5 game will start only if its age rating is the same as or lower than your child's age.
- If your child tries to start a blocked game, they can send you a request. You get a notification and an email, and you can allow the request in the PlayStation Family app.
- Check the Communication and User-Generated Content setting. Restricting it turns off text messages, voice chat and shared user-generated content. Dead Island 2 includes online co-op, so this setting matters for that game.
You can also set parental controls from the PlayStation Family app or in Account Management on the web. A monthly spending limit is set to 0 by default, and payments for a child's purchases come from the family manager's wallet.
If you have an October game to grab: add F1 25, Hunt: Showdown 1896 and Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 by Monday, Nov. 2.
The new games arrive Tuesday, Nov. 3.
